Lobos Island is located approximately twenty minutes by boat from Puerto Baquerizo Moreno. It is a long trail of 850 m/approximately one half mile, that takes about one hour to walk. There is a small population of blue-footed boobies and common frigate birds that nest in this area.
This island lives up to the name of Sea Lion Island because it has a has a large and noisy population of these frolicking and barking mammals. It is also the nesting place for blue – footed – boobies, the island is covered with basalt rocks, and offers excellent spots for snorkeling.
