La lobería
La Loberia is located 10 minutes away from San Cristobal airport. This is a coral sand beach named after the large number of sea lions that used to rest on the rocks and sand. Adult male sea lions develop a large bump on their heads called a sagittal crest, this is an easy way to be able to differentiate a male from a female sea lion. During the tour, you will be able to snorkel with sea turtles, colorful fishes, and the occasional playful-natured young sea lion.
While walking along the path, you will be able to spot button mangroves, white mangroves, Chala (croton), Palo Santo trees, Galápagos cotton, and other species of the coastal area. Following the nature path, you will reach Las Negritas, a cliff where you will be able to observe sea birds, sea turtles, as well as marine iguanas that due to their color are oftentimes mistaken for volcanic rocks.
